Rental Rehabilitation Program (Program CLOSED)
The Rental Rehabilitation Program assists local property owners in rehabilitating rental properties by providing low interest (3%) loans. Maximum amount that can be borrowed is $25,000 per unit. The property must be located within Census Tract 9.
Emergency Home Repair Program (Program CLOSED)
The Emergency Home Repair program is designed to correct hazardous conditions that will result in a unit that is decent, safe and sanitary and meets the State Rehabilitation Standards. The program will address units with one or more hazardous conditions that threaten the health and safety of the occupants, such as roofing repairs, plumbing, electrical, etc. Note: Funds may also be used to assist owners on the waiting list for Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation where correction of hazardous conditions is necessary to avoid displacement of the owner-occupants.  In this case, the cost of emergency repairs must be included in the total cost of rehabilitation.
Lead Test Permit
If your home was built before 1978, consider having your home tested for lead.  You may want to test your home if it has painted surfaces that are in poor condition.  Before you begin home repair or remodeling projects, test any painted surfaces that will be removed or remodeled.  Disturbing lead-based paint can create a lead-poisoning hazard.
