Our Mission:
It is the mission of the Information Technology Department to provide excellent customer service to our internal and external customers. We are dedicated to developing, researching, implementing and maintaining current and future technologies to facilitate voice, video and data service for our customers.

  • Support and maintain the City's website.
  • Support and maintain the City's utility billing and financial software.
  • Support and maintain the City's 911 computer aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
  • Support and maintain Library's technology.
  • Support and maintain the Housing's software.
  • Support and maintain Fire's billing software.
  • Support and maintain access via telephone and Internet to City services and staff


Recent Budget Highlights

  • Deployed a state of the art voice and data system, which allows City departments to communicate more efficiently and has set the stage for deployment of advanced services to City staff and customers.
  • Working with City staff on the deployment of the Tyler Technologies Incode software system.  The system will extend the abilities of the City beyond the current H.T.E. applications and will allow for online payments of certain City programs, such as utilities.
  • Assisted in the deployment of a multi-million dollar, state of the art, call center, which has already resulted in the creation of several hundred new jobs.
  • Assisted in the development of grants for the City’s Library.
  • Deployed Microsoft Exchange 2007.
  • Installed and initially deployed Xmedius Fax Service, which will allow for enhanced communication with customers and staff and eliminate numerous fax lines.
  • Developed and installed Microsoft’s Active Directory 2008
  • Installed wireless bridges to the Police Department, Fire Department, Library, Recreation, and Public Works Barn, which greatly improved their ability to communicate with City Hall and their customers.
  • Deployed an advanced uninterruptable power supply system to support the City’s core network.
  • Deployed a storage area network (SAN) to support City systems.
  • Resurrected and began deployment of the City’s Laserfiche document management system.
  • Implemented an IP based call recording system for Police and Fire.
  • Implemented an IP based paging/text system.
  • Deployed Microsoft terminal service.
  • Deployed site to site VPN to smaller City sites.
  • Purchase and deploy a DS3 circuit for the City’s Internet service.
