Fernando Betancourt was born in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico and when he was three years of age; his mother moved the family to Los Angeles, California. He lived there until the age of fourteen before moving to Douglas. Fernando has now lived in Douglas for 19 years and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Douglas Chamber of Commerce, Stronger Families Committee Vice-President, and is a Pastor for the Ministerios Tierra de Bendicion Church of God in Douglas. Fernando’s goal is to work with people and represent his ward to the best of his ability by creating a good relationship between the city and the people he represents.
